Okan Özen has been practicing law since 2012 as a member of the Ankara Bar Association and specializes in criminal law, IT law, personal data protection law, and intellectual property law.
His main area of focus is criminal law and he is advising our domestic and foreign clients in criminal investigations and cases related to economic crimes, cyber crimes, intellectual property crimes, and unfair competition crimes. He also provides consultancy and advocacy services to individuals who wish to make individual applications to the Constitutional Court. In addition, he advises on compliance with personal data protection legislation, and various issues related to IT law, intellectual property law, labor law, and commercial contracts.
Okan Özen has also been working as an expert mediator in labor law, commercial, and intellectual property disputes as a registered mediator in the Ministry of Justice Mediators Registry since 2017.
Okan Özen graduated from Bilkent University Faculty of Law in 2010. He completed his master's degree in IT law at Hacettepe University, and later earned another master's degree in public law (criminal law) at Bilkent University. Currently, he is pursuing his doctorate in public law (criminal law) at Bilkent University.

Barış Seven | Counsel
Barış Seven advises local and foreign clients on various areas of law. His litigation experience spans private law disputes such as commercial and labor cases, debt enforcement proceedings and actions of debt, as well as criminal and administrative cases. He also assists clients in obtaining residence permit and citizenship by investment in Turkey.
Barış is also specialized in intellectual property law and provides legal consultancy on issues such as ownership of artistic works, inventions and designs, protection of IP rights, technology transfer and licensing. As a registered Trademark Attorney, he follows-up all procedures – such as filing applications and handling oppositions – before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Authority in relation to trademarks, designs and geographical indications.
Barış graduated from Başkent University Faculty of Law on full tuition scholarship. He completed his studies on international public law and human rights in Netherlands where he studied as an Erasmus scholar. He holds an LL.M from the Ankara University, jointly organized by WIPO and TürkPatent. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at Ankara University Intellectual and Industrial Rights Research and Application Center (FISAUM).

Emir Bağış | Of Counsel
Emir Bağış specializes in international arbitration, FDI law and foreign trade law. Besides his arbitration practice, he provides consultancy in FDI law, investment/export incentives and WTO law.
Emir is a graduate of Bilkent University, Faculty of Law. He obtained his LL.M from the Queen Mary University of London in comparative and international dispute resolution. He negotiated Bilateral Investment Treaties and Free Trade Agreements with more than 30 countries as a legal expert for Turkish delegation. He holds training certificates in international investment arbitration and advance ICSID arbitration from Columbia University, New York and University of Cologne, Germany as well as WTO training certificates from WTO and JVI.

Güneş Ünüvar | Of Counsel
Güneş Ünüvar possesses specialized knowledge on international dispute resolution and, in particular, on investment treaty arbitration. He advises clients across a range of sectors on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters of public international law.
Güneş is a Senior Research Fellow at Max Planck Institute for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law in Luxembourg as of February 2021 and is Of Counsel at Özgür Ünüvar Bakiler. He was a Carlsberg Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at iCourts (2017-2021) and has taught several courses on economic law and constitutional law at the University of Copenhagen, Uppsala University and the University of Edinburgh. He has extensive knowledge and experience on investor-State disputes, having been engaged in several disputes as counsel and advisor. He is currently a member of the Academic Forum for the Working Group III meetings under the auspices of UNCITRAL, addressing investor-State dispute settlement reform. He has previously held Visiting Researcher positions at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels and Columbia Law School in New York City
He holds a PhD from the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. He obtained his LL.M. degree from the Institute for European Studies (IES), Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, Bilkent University.

Yunus Emre Bakiler is dual-qualified as a Turkish lawyer and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. He specializes on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and dispute resolution. He also assists potential investors, in Turkey and abroad, on the best methods to structure their investments and to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on start-ups. He routinely represents clients in courts and international arbitration proceedings for corporate and commercial disputes. Yunus Emre also provides tailored programs and solutions to ensure clients’ compliance with local and international anti-bribery and corruption rules, such as the FCPA and the UKBA.
Yunus Emre is a graduate of Bilkent University’s Faculty of Law. He holds an LL.M. degree on international commercial law from the University of Aberdeen (with Commendation). Erman Özgür | Partner
Erman Özgür specializes in international arbitration and energy law. He represents and advises private parties in contractual international dispute resolution matters and investment treaty disputes under international investment agreements with a focus on public international law, downstream energy law and oil & gas agreements. Erman is listed as an arbitrator with the Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC). He can be appointed as an arbitrator, co-arbitrator or as a tribunal secretary in various local and international dispute resolution proceedings. Erman also assists companies in the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Turkey. He advises companies on market and local content research, business development and contract negotiations in foreign markets and in Turkey.
Erman is a graduate of Ankara University, Faculty of Law. He holds an LL.M from the University of Edinburgh (with Distinction) and a PhD on investment treaty arbitration from the Center for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee (as the recipient of the CEPMLP Research Scholarship). He completed Research Fellowships on public international law at the Erik Castrén Institute of International Law and Human Rights, the University of Helsinki, and at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels.
